Alpacas belong to the genus of South American camelids. They have a life expectancy of about 20 to 25 years.
Alpacas are intelligent, quiet, good-natured and very tough. Alpakas can be found even in very sparse pastures, and still find sufficient food. Alpacas eat about the same amount as sheep, however, they better put their food into energy.

You do not need special fencing or closed stables, recommended is an open stable attitude in which they find weather dependent protection and are not affected by many diseases of sheep.

With an area of 1000 square meters can 1 animal be placed, for every further animal an additional 100sqm is required.
Alpacas belong to the family of calluses Ohler, so that the turf of the meadows is only slightly put under pressure.
Every year, bring the alpaca mares a cub - a so-called "Cria" to the world. The gestation period is 11 to 11 1/2 months

Our Alpacas are kept in fixed fenced pastures, to a total of 6.5 Ha.
Each pasture has a shelter - pasture tent or solid barn where the animals always find hay and fresh water, and can help protect against wind and bad weather.

The animals are with us every year, sheared the end of April early May, depending on weather conditions, this contributes to the very good development of the young animals and especially for maintaining the health of the herd in as they could otherwise suffer through heat in summer.
